The 61-key keyboard offers a semi-weighted action, feels just right, features naturally responsive key-on/key-off velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, and is designed for musicians of all levels.
The latest addition to the Pa1000 is a Kaoss FX touchpad, that gives you the ability to mangle sounds at the swipe of a finger. With Kaoss, you can morph between Variations and Drum Kit types, mix between accompaniment Sounds, and reshape ongoing rhythms, to the most radical note-crunching effects, such as the accelerating stutter effect, used by DJs, as well as tape delay and arpeggios. With the Kaoss pad you can add “liquid mixing” to any Style or MIDI Song with the aid of easy-to-use computer-assisted composition features.
The Pa1000 combines a slim profile and professional look with a sound larger than life. It features two 33-watt amplifiers that drive 4 loudspeakers in a bass-reflex enclosure, which generates a rich, full-bodied sound. The main panel has been optimized to ensure that all controls are ergonomically positioned and intuitively located to make every performance feel smooth and natural. Big, bright, and bold, the new capacitive TouchView display hosts a redesigned graphical interface that is easier than ever to read, even under the most demanding lighting environments.
The Pa1000’s advanced EDS-X (Enhanced Definition Synthesis-eXpanded) sound engine runs the gamut of sounds, including classic and contemporary keyboards, acoustic instruments, band and orchestral instruments, electronica instruments, and electric pianos from the acclaimed KORG SV-1 Stage Piano.
All sounds have been meticulously captured via state-of-the-art technologies that reproduce the finest detail and nuance. For example, the Pa700 features two multi-layer stereo grand piano presets with realistic sonic components, including damper and body resonance.
Continuing in the vein of realistic sonic components, the Pa700 also has a digital drawbar organ that incorporates key on/off noises, leakage, and Rotary Speaker emulation. In addition, the Pa700 has been equipped with new wind instruments, strings, basses—even acoustic and electric guitars.
With up to 256MB of compressed PCM user memory, custom sounds can be stored and recalled easily. General MIDI (GM) sound bank has been improved for better compatibility with GM files. The Pa700 can also load/import KORG, WAV, AIFF, SoundFont formats and export in WAV or AIFF. Sounds can be fully edited, and for incredible richness, can use up to 24 oscillators for each note.
Under the hood, the Pa000 sound engine delivers over 430 Styles, each a fully-realized musical background for a particular musical style. The Pa1000 offers access to a vast and varied range of musical genres. Each Style features four Fill-Ins with break patterns, one for each variation. Using the new Auto Fill function they can be automatically recalled as you move between the four variations. The Pa1000 has 1,152 locations for you to save your new Styles and settings. In addition, each Style can be enhanced by using the four Pads. Each Pad can add a one-time or repeating riff, a percussion part, an accent sound, or even a sound effect.
The Pa1000 features a Standard MIDI File-to-Style converter that gives you immediate access to styles of the latest songs. Just get a new Standard MIDI File, load it into the Pa700 and the converter will quickly turn it into a full Korg style that also creates a Chord Sequence from the song’s chords.
Known for their studio-quality effects, the Pa1000 includes the best of the Korg effects library. For accompaniment tracks, two Insert and two Master effects can be used, while real-time keyboard tracks can use one Insert and two Master effects. All totaled, 148 effect types are available, including reverbs, delays, vintage stomp box simulations, amp and cabinet simulators and more.
Korg’s long-time partnership the TC-Helicon, the world leader in vocal harmonies, brings another performance dimension to the Pa1000. With new features and algorithms, the TC-Helicon Voice Processor ensures your vocals have the highest possible sound quality. Up to 3 realistic harmony voices can be generated by the lead voice, and can be controlled by the keyboard or MIDI events. There are also five effects blocks available, including EQ, Compressor, Gate, and two FX.
Not just vocal mic input, a guitarist who wants to perform with keyboard backing tracks can plug a guitar into the Pa1000’s dedicated rear-panel Guitar FX input. This input lets you add pedal and studio effects to a guitar as you perform. These effects are some of the best guitar effects from the Korg collection, providing the sound of all-tube amplifiers, realistic distortion, chorus, delay pedals, and high-quality studio reverbs.
Specifically for Karaoke performance, a built-in player supports the MP3+G (also known as MP3+Graphics) format for MP3 files in addition to the most popular lyrics formats. This feature allows backing sequences to play with enriched lyrics and graphics that can be displayed simultaneously on the on-board TFT display as well as an external monitor.
And since some performances are pure magic, the Pa1000 can record your entire performance for posterity (or future blackmail). You can run a song, play the keyboard, sing along and everything will be recorded in MP3 format and stored on an external USB device or in the internal memory.
Particularly useful for live use, the Pa1000 has a fully programmable and searchable SongBook. It can use styles, MIDI files, or MP3s and immediately recall settings such as song title, genre, artist, tempo, volumes, sounds, muted tracks, FX settings, easy edit, 4 Keyboard Sets, TC Helicon vocal presets, master transpose, and more. The SongBook includes also an updated Set List function, with a convenient panel-button association for fast recall, to make life easier during live gigs.
With the SongBook Editor you can easily view, create, and edit your Korg Pa-Series SongBook entries and Set Lists using a Windows-based computer. It can also be synchronized with iOS and Android tablets to become your handy external digital music sheet reader (third-party software required).
Along with standard 5-pin connectors, MIDI connection can also be done via USB host ports (in addition to USB Device and the MIDI ports). This allows for easy connection of controllers, such as digital pianos like the Korg Havian 30, or the Korg nano and micro series, with no need for special adapters.
Not just for keyboard players, guitarists and vocalists with a small amount of keyboard knowledge can be a one-person band with a Korg Pa1000. For more information, call or chat online with your Westlake Pro Sales Consultant today.
